What a speed camera ticket costs
Fine amounts are set by state law, not by the city — so every city in a state charges the same. What differs is what each agency publishes about income-based reductions and how you respond.
California — AB 645
A citation is only issued at 11 mph or more over the posted limit. Citations are civil penalties: no licence points, and not reported to the DMV as moving violations.

A first violation in the 11–15 mph over band is a warning notice rather than a fine. Reduced amounts are published by the agencies listed below; where a city has not published its own table, check its page.

Neither the statute nor any of the operating agencies publishes court fees or assessments on top of these amounts — the figures above are the amounts owed. If you see a much higher “real” total quoted elsewhere, ask for the source.
